Confidence can be an incredibly difficult thing to build up. Nobody is born with limitless self-confidence and if they have it, it is because they have worked incredibly hard building it up over a number of years. Having low self-confidence can feel like your driving through life with the handbrake on… nobody wants that. However we understand that in today’s society, building self-confidence can be tough with society having so many expectations and standards of beauty. We want to change the game, we want people from all walks of life walking around with that limitless self-confidence, and therefore we looked into some of the tips to increase it!
Take Notice of What You’ve already Achieved
It’s very easy to lose sight of what we have achieved therefore we suggest making a list of all the things you’re proud of in your life. It may be the mark you obtained on your exam, the promotion you got at work, the extra squats you fitted in at the gym. No accomplishment is too small. Keep this list by you and add to it as you complete activities you are proud of. Then, when you’re down, whip it out and remember how darn amazing you really are.
Groom Yourself
Now, I am not talking about spending hundreds of dollars on clothes, makeup or beauty treatments (however if that works for you, go get it girl). I am talking about having a shower, thoroughly washing your hair, shave, apply some moisturizer, self tan if you want to, do a facial mask once a week, you get my point. This one may sound silly but trust me; some days when I feel like a giant potato, cleaning myself up a bit can make a huge difference.
Do One Thing That Scares You Every Day
So how many of you cringed at the above statement? Don’t stress! The best way to overcome fear is to face it head on! By doing something that makes you uncomfortable everyday and gaining confidence from those experiences, you will see your self-confidence soar! For example strike up a conversation with a stranger or dance around your living room in your underwear.
Appreciate Yourself
This might sound odd but every morning you need to stand in the mirror and say 5 things that you like about yourself. They can be physical or internal, for example you may state that you like your eyes, hair, humor, intelligence and persistence. Sometimes we forget the amazing things that make us, us! Remind yourself.
Affirmations
Daily affirmations are a great way to boost self-confidence and positivity! There are various apps available that send you affirmations as a reminder in the morning, otherwise find some that are important to you, print them out and stick them in areas of your house that you constantly see such as on the fridge, on your bathroom mirror or near the toilet flush button.
So there you have it, you beautiful people, 5 tips to increase your self-confidence, you are all amazing, unique individuals and you should embrace you.
