Eggs have some pretty amazing health benefits as they are rich sources of selenium, vitamin D, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, zinc, iron and copper. The egg yolk contains more calories and fat than the whites however they are a valuable source of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, K and lecithin. That’s all pretty amazing right? You might now be thinking, eggs do sound very healthy but how do I add them into my diet? Don’t worry… I’ve got your back.
Baked Egg in Avocado
Look guys, if you haven’t tried this yet you really need to step up your game. You have probably seen this on the Internet and if you are waiting for a sign to try it, this is it. All you have to do is take the pit out of an avocado, crack an egg in, sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake at 220 for roughly 10-15 minutes. You can thank me later.
Let’s Take Your Salad Up a Notch
Next time you feel like a big delicious salad for lunch but you’re feeling it’s missing some oomph; well the oomph is a soft-boiled egg my friends. Letting that runny yolk pour over your greens as a salad dressing is going to change your life.
Sandwich Time
If you are a sandwich type of person then we highly recommend incorporating some eggs into your lunchtime routine. You can either go straight to level 10 with a curried egg sandwich or add sliced hard boiled egg to your tuna and salad sandwich on rye.
Egg Pizza
Don’t freak out… this sounds weird but it will change your life. If you are stuck on a healthy dinner idea, I recommend making some healthy gluten free pizzas but when the pizza is about 4 minutes off being cooked – take it out, crack an egg into the middle and put it back in the oven to cook. It has changed the pizza game forever.
Ramen
This may not be the healthiest of options but it is a good one so the next time you’re having a cheat meal I highly recommend you give this a try. Buy your favorite ramen brand; cook as normal except this time had a soft poached egg. Once that yolk goes into the broth and covers the noodles your mind will be blown.
Frittata
Frittatas are absolutely delicious and those who disagree must not have taste buds. The best thing about a frittata is that once you’ve cooked it you can cut it up into portions and have it in the fridge as breakfast on the go! If you’re stuck on a recipe idea, here is one we love!
Pickled Eggs
Might sound weird but give it a go. All you have to do is get a saucepan and boil vinegar, water and pickling spice. Next grab peeled hard-boiled eggs and put them into a jar. Pour the liquid into the jar and then into the fridge. The degree of pickling depends on how long the eggs are kept in the liquid. A great snack idea!
