As your wedding day approaches you are probably feeling more and more motivated to reach your goal weight and you are probably wanting to do it as quickly as possible but you need to ensure you reach your goal in a safe and sustainable way.
Jumping straight into a crash diet will only add to your anxiety. A crash diet is a weight-loss diet undertaken on an urgent, short-term basis with the aim of achieving very rapid results in a super short period of time. If restrictions happen for long enough your body will conserve fat and start using it’s muscle for energy.
Try taking the same strategic approach to weight loss as you did when planning your wedding. Set clear goals for yourself every week, sort out your meal plan and schedule your exercising. You also need to set realistic goals for yourself, the exact same way you would’ve done when you needed to work your wedding into a budget.
Planning Your Diet
Start by reducing your intake of carbohydrates by cutting back to around 50 to 150 grams of carbs per day while working towards your weight loss goal. Increase your protein intake in your daily routine, include foods such as eggs, lean meat, seeds and nuts, beans and legumes or soy products like tofu.
Ensure you are getting enough fiber in your diet as fiber helps you feel more satisfied for longer and curbs hunger. Stay hydrated, ensuring you have 8 glasses of water a day. Proper hydration promotes good digestion and glowing skin but is especially important if you’re adding exercise into your routine.
Eat smaller more frequent meals such as five or six smaller meals a day rather than three main meals. This will assist you in stabilizing your metabolism and keeping hunger and cravings at bay. Whilst diet is important in aiding weight loss, it isn’t the only thing you need to consider. Exercise greatly supports the process by ramping up your metabolism. You don’t need to spend hours upon hours in the gym or run a marathon but including some physical activity will help you in reaching your goal weight.
Keep in mind to start slowly, increase the intensity, as you are ready, combine cardio with weight training and commit to a schedule to help you stay in line.
