Let’s be real, losing weight as a mum is damn hard work and anyone who says differently can kiss you where the sun doesn’t shine!! Alright but seriously, you are nearly always low on time and the child has become the top priority. But don’t worry, Thinco is all about women looking out for women therefore we have looked into the most effective weight loss tips for busy new mums, you can thank us later lovelies.
Focus on nutrient-dense foods
We understand that sometimes grabbing a packaged meal and throwing it in the microwave is just the easiest thing to do when you are low on time but unfortunately it is not the best decision for your health or your waistline. Therefore we recommend stocking up on healthy, easy to grab snacks to make your life that little bit easier. Food items such as celery with organic peanut butter, fruit, boiled eggs; tins of tuna in spring water, brown rice cakes with avocado and tomatoes are all wonderful options to start with.
Make time for yourself
We get it… this tip sounds impossible! However it is very important to ensure you have some mum only time at least once a week. Grab your relative, friend or partner and toss your child in their direction and run for the hills… we’re totally kidding (or are we?). Alright, alright in all seriousness organize one day a week where you can go for a walk with your friends, enlist in a yoga/boxing/cross fit class or spend this time meal prepping healthy meals for yourself so you are prepared for the week ahead.
Let’s get that baby moving
Trying to fit in some exercise on a daily basis may also seem absolutely impossible but wait for it… there are now mummy and me exercises that you can do in the comfort of your own home! This is a great way to spend some time with your child but also burn some calories.
Track your food
Sometimes it can be hard to keep track of what you are eating when you are running around all day. Therefore we recommend using a food-tracking tool such as My Fitness Pal, which is also available as an app on your phone. Not only will this help you stay within your recommended percentages and calories but it will make you more aware of what type of foods you are consuming.
You’ve got this.
