Over the years portion sizes, therefore plate sizes have increased dramatically and a lot of the time we don’t realize we are actually eating a lot more then we need. Another useful tip, ensure your dish color contrasts with the food on it as studies have proven people eat more food when the food is the same color as the plate.

Lift Weights 3 Times Per Week

Listen, you don’t have to exercise to lose weight but it can help and it is recommended. When you’re next at the gym, warm up and then start lifting some weights. By lifting weights, you will burn a lot more calories and prevent your metabolism from slowing down. If you are a beginner to lifting weights, make sure you start at an appropriate weight and work your way up.

Stay Hydrated

We all know water is good for us and there have been numerous studies that show drinking water assists greatly in weight loss. Aim for 2-3L of water per day and you will see a noticeable difference. Drinking water is good for your body in many ways but it is also an excellent way of reducing your calories throughout the day. Get Those Zzz’s

If you are having an inadequate level of sleep then you will be putting a stop to any weight loss. Poor sleep triggers a section of the brain that controls urges to eat and staying up late increases cravings for unhealthy food. We recommend stopping your screen time one hour before bed so that your mind and body can truly relax.

Slow It Down

A lot of us seem to constantly be in a rush and we have adapted this during mealtime. Fast eaters gain more weight over time. Studies show if you eat your meal more slowly you will feel fuller for longer and it boosts weight-reducing hormones.

It’s Opposite Day

If you are right handed, use your left hand to eat (and vice versa). Research suggests that you are likely to eat less when using your non-dominant hand, partially because you are less likely to munch mindlessly. This may be hard in the beginning but you will get use to it.

Increase Your Fiber
