Adele’s weight loss definitely didn’t go unnoticed by her fans worldwide and let’s be honest; she is looking absolutely FABULOUS (not that she didn’t before). As Adele celebrated her 32nd birthday, she posted an Instagram photo displaying her incredible weight loss to the world and let’s just say our jaws dropped to our keyboards. But now begs the question… how exactly did she lose so much weight? Well Adele has given credits to the Sirtfood diet along side working with a personal trainer. The Sirtfood Diet is about using ‘wonder foods’ to turbocharge your body to not only increase weight loss but to improve your health overall in the long-term. The Sirtfood Diet has been recommended by various sports athletes, celebrities and models who all rely on their bodies looking and performing at their best. What is the Sirtfood Diet? The science behind this diet is based around specific Sirtfoods, which are a group of everyday plant foods high in a chemical compound known as ‘sirtuin’ activators. These activators are a type of protein that switch on the ‘skinny gene’ pathways within the body. These same pathways are the ones activated by fasting and exercise but what we really want to know is how does it work? Sirtfoods stimulate the genes that boost your metabolic system and works in two stages. 

The first stage is intensive seven-day programs where you really kick start that intense weight loss. Stage two is more about upping the quantity of these specific foods into your everyday meals to maintain your current weight loss. 

Foods that are included in a Sirtfood diet includes, chili, buckwheat, capers, celery, coffee, kale, medjool dates. Extra virgin olive oil, red wine (how amazing?), rocket, strawberries and walnuts… just to name a few. 

For the first three days most dieters drink two green juices a day and one meal. For the second half of your first week you can then have two juices and two meals per day. After the initial stage you the begin eating more meals, however only incorporating approved Sirtfood ingredients.
